The stableford format of the Brewery Cup gave competitors a chance to be a little more aggressive with their game and so better their eclectic. While this worked for some others concentrated on improving their OOM status.
Long time leader Simon Pay has now opened up a 54 point lead although Junior Captain Sam Long kept in touch thanks to his own 23 point haul. Previous leader Charlie Fletcher is now losing touch with the top two after another disappointing competition for him, now sitting 113 points off top spot. Closing the gap between himself and the top three is in form Alan Rigby who collected 5 points thanks mainly to the chip in on 17 that clawed him into a top 32 finish.

No change at the top as only the hardest of the hard holes remain un-birdied at this stage of the season. Dave Langley jumps from 7th to 4th and now within one bettered score of top stop thanks to his birdie on the 8th. Also a huge move from Peter Jackson jumping from 35th to 13th two scores off 2nd after removing his bogey on 1 and gaining an eagle on the 7th that removes his previous par. A welcome move into the top 30 by Peter Duffy despite troubles overall on Sunday he improved his eclectic by 2 with birdies on the 2nd and 16th to pull away from playing partner Denver Brazier who scored better but didn’t improve his own eclectic.
