Although the recent weather is changing ground conditions making the course play longer and longer there is no stopping the unbelievable scores that are constantly posted.
The day was very much dominated by the afternoon section which welcomed a lovely warm sunny day opposed to the colder morning players led by Mike Warr’s strong 37 pts. Although 5 better than handicap this is a score that wouldn’t lead long and was snatched away thanks to Dave Langleys wonderful 40 pts return including a 2 on the 2nd and 8th. However this too would not last with Winters in form player Geoff Maher again in the mix thanks to another 41 pts return. Mahers round made on the front thanks to birdies at 2 and 8 and just 3 bogies. Sadly for Maher this wouldn’t be his 2nd win of the Winter as Phil Jones pounced on the back nine to claim the day via CPO and his own 41 pts return. Despite doubles at 6 and 11 Jones rallied well to return 11 pars and just two bogies to finish 9 better than his handicap allowance.
