In typically changeable conditions the early and late starters enjoyed the best of the weather in the second Stableford major of the season. From the early starters bad weather specialist, Paul Saxon, again battled hard to post a level par 36 pts, bettered by 1 soon after by Winter League finalist Alastair McCarey.  Despite blobbing 18 McCarey signed for a healthy 37 pts.  At the halfway stage however no one could match John Dodd.  Playing through the worst of the conditions, Dodd was to take over top spot with an impressive 38 pts.  Recovering from a no score at 11 Dodd proceed to record four 3 pt holes to go with his strong front 20 pt showing.  However no one could compete with Ellesmere Ports finest, Scott Butler.  After a level par 18 pts on the front, with a disappointing bogey on 9, Butler consolidated with 6 pts through the triangle before exploding into action with a birdie at 13 that kick started a back 6 explosion which he completed in 21 shots, 2 under gross.

Along with the beautiful Silver Quaich trophy and prize voucher Scott has also won a place in this Years Peter Alliss Masters hosted by Peter at Old Thorns Golf Club in Hampshire.
